چکیده

The modern day Electronic Warfare(EW) receivers are required to match with the current day radar technologies like the Low Probability of Intercept(LPI) radars with various intra pulse modulations such as Chirp, Barker, Frank, Poly-phase and Poly time codes. This paper presents the state of the art single board Digital Receiver solution for intercepting and analyzing complex radar signals. Also the pre and post processing methodologies have been discussed from both the algorithmic as well as hardware point of view. Keywords— Digital Receiver, DSP, EW-Electronic Warfare, FPGA, Intra Pulse Modulation, LPI-Low Probability of Intercept, Time Frequency Algorithms.

Identification of LPI Radar Signal Modulation using Bi-coherence Analysis and Artificial Neural Networks Techniques

This paper presents Higher Order Spectral Analysis (HOSA) and Artificial Neural Network techniques for identification of LPI (Low Probability of Intercept) Radar signal. Common Spectral analysis and conventional methods fail to detect low powered emissions of LPI Radars and even normal radars in noisy environments. This leads us to use Higher Order Spectral Analysis (HOSA) techniques (bi-spectr...

Intercept Receiver Signal Processing Techniques to Detect Low Probability of Intercept Radar Signals

Many users of radar today are specifying a Low Probability of Intercept (LPI) as an important tactical requirement. The term LPI is that property of a radar that because of its low power, wide bandwidth, frequency variability, or other design attributes, makes it difficult to be detected by means of passive intercept receiver devices such as electronic support (ES), radar warning receivers (RWR...

Sub-Nyquist sampling and detection in Costas coded pulse compression radars

Modern pulse compression radar involves digital signal processing of high bandwidth pulses modulated with different coding schemes. One of the limiting factors in the radar’s design to achieve desired target range and resolution is the need of high rate analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion fulfilling the Nyquist sampling criteria. The high sampling rates necessitate huge storage capacity, more po...
